"Aby" - Tutorial (FTU Kit)


This tutorial was written on Monday November 5th 2012 by Mystery Designs. It was written in PSP X2 and assumes a good, working knowledge of the program. **Supplies Needed**

Tube - “Aby” by Roman Zaric HERE

Kit - “Music Of The Night” by Tootypup Scraps HERE

Mask - “Vix_BigMask019” by Vix HERE

Font Used – Music Hall



**Plugins**

None




Open your tube
Shift+d to duplicate
Close the original

Open a new image – Canvas Size 800 x 650 pixels

This is a little large, but we can resize later ;)

Rename layer “Raster 1” to “background”

Floodfill this layer with white #ffffff

Layers – New Raster Layer and rename “mask2”

Selections – Select All

Open up “TP_Paper_02” from the kit

Copy – Paste – Into Selection

Selections – None

Layers – Load/Save Mask – Load Mask from Disk

Choose “Vix_BigMask019” with these settings :



Layers – New Raster Layer and rename “mask1”

Floodfill this layer with black #000000


Layers – Load/Save Mask – Load Mask from Disk

Choose “Vix_BigMask019” again with the same settings

Open up “TP_Heart_01” from the kit

Copy – Paste – As New Layer and rename “frame”

Image – Free Rotate with these settings :



Move your frame up towards the top of your tag a little

Grab your Magic Wand Tool with these settings :



Select inside the heart frame

Selections – Modify – Expand – 4 pixels

Layers – New Raster Layer and rename “inside”

Open up “TP_Paper_05” from the kit

Press shift+d to duplicate

Close the original


Image – Mirror

Copy – Paste – Into Selection

Selections – None

Layers – Arrange – Move Down

Grab your tube

Copy – Paste – As New Layer and rename “tube1”


Arrange in the middle of your tag

Layers – Duplicate and rename “tube2”

Layers – Arrange – Move Up

Hide layer “tube1” for a minute

Highlight layer “frame”

Grab your Magic Wand Tool again

Select inside the frame

Selections – Invert


Highlight layer “tube2”

Grab your Eraser Tool with these settings :



Erase any of your tube that shows below the frame at the bottom of your tag like so :



Selections – None

Un-hide layer “tube1”

Add a drop shadow

Highlight your top layer - “tube2”

Open up “TP_PianoKeys_02” from the kit

Copy – Paste – As New Layer and rename “piano”

Image – Resize – 85%

Image – Mirror

Arrange over on the bottom-left of your tag like so :



Add a drop shadow

Drag this layer down in your Layer Palette so that it is below layer “tube1”

Highlight your top layer again - “tube2”

Open up “TP_MusicDeco_01” from the kit

Copy – Paste – As New Layer and rename “music deco”

Add a drop shadow

Move over towards the right-hand side of your tag (see my tag above for guidance)

Open up “TP_Violin_02” from the kit

Copy – Paste – As New Layer and rename “violin”

Image – Resize – 55%

Add a drop shadow

Arrange over on the left of your tag so that it rests on the keys we placed earlier (see my tag above for guidance)


Open up “TP_KeyRing_01” from the kit

Copy – Paste – As New Layer and rename “keyring”

Image – Resize – 36%

Add a drop shadow

Arrange over on the left of your tag by the violin like so :



Layers – Arrange – Move Down

Highlight your top layer - “violin”

Open up “TP_Pillar_06” from the kit

Copy – Paste – As New Layer and rename “pillar”

Image – Resize – 65%

Add a drop shadow

Arrange over on the right-hand side of your tag (see my tag above for guidance)

Drag this layer down in your Layer Palette so that it is below layer “music deco”

Highlight your top layer again - “violin”

Open up “TP_Deco_02” from the kit

Copy – Paste – As New Layer and rename “deco2”

Arrange over on the bottom-right of your tag (see my tag above for guidance)

Drag this layer down in your Layer Palette so that it is below layer “music deco”


**If you would like to resize your tag, now is the time to do so**

Add your name and all copyrights.
Save your finished tag and you’re done!
