"Sassy Autumn Forum Set" - Tutorial (FTU Kit)



This tutorial was written on Wednesday, October 31st 2012 by Mystery Designs. It was written in PSP X2 and assumes a good, working knowledge of the program. Any similarity to other tutorials is purely coincidental and not done intentionally. Please do not copy or claim the tutorial as your own. **Supplies Needed**

Tube of choice. I'm using a brand new release by Ismael Rac called “Sassy Attitude” which you can buy now in his store HERE

Kit - “Misfit Fall” by Melissaz Creations which you can download HERE

Template - “Temp 66” by Spawns Forum Set Templates HERE

Word Art – I'm using some Autumn wordart by Audrey from the Creative Misfits Blog HERE


**Plugins**

Xero – Radiance



Open up your tube
Press Shift+d to duplicate
Close the original

Open up the template
Press Shift+d to duplicate
Close the original


@@ To Make The Main Tag @@

On the template, delete layers “credits”, “left square lines” and “right square lines” on the template

Highlight layer “Right Foreground”


Selections – Select All – Float – Defloat


Layers – New Raster Layer and rename “Right Foreground 1”

Choose a paper from your kit. I am using the one on layer “raster 9” from the kit

Copy – Paste – Into Selection

Selections – None

Delete “Right Foreground” layer

Highlight layer “Left Foreground”


Selections – Select All – Float – Defloat


Layers – New Raster Layer and rename “Left Foreground 1”

Grab your paper again

Copy – Paste – Into Selection

Selections – None

Delete layer “Left Foreground”

Highlight layer “Middle Foreground”


Selections – Select All – Float – Defloat


Layers – New Raster Layer and rename “Middle Foreground 1”

Choose a different paper from your kit. I am using the one on layer “Raster 8” from the kit

Copy – Paste – Into Selection

Selections – None

Delete layer “Middle Foreground”

Highlight layer “Middle Foreground 1” again

Grab your Change To Target brush (the one that looks like a bullseye)

Change your Foreground colour to a colour that compliments your tag. I am using #ff7300

Colourise your Middle Foreground 1 layer

Highlight layer “Left Black Line”

Layers – Merge – Merge Down and rename “Lines”

Adjust – Brightness and Contrast – Brightness/Contrast

Brightness : 88
Contrast : 10

Still using your Change To Target Brush


Change your Foreground to another colour which compliments your tag. I am using #a53900


Colourise your “Lines” layer

Add a drop shadow of choice

Highlight layer “Right Foreground 1” again


Selections – Select All – Float – Defloat


Grab your tube

Copy – Paste – As New Layer and rename “Tube1”

Arrange over the selected area

Once happy with the position

Selections – Invert and hit delete

Selections – None

Change the Blend Mode to “Overlay”

Lower the Opacity to around 26

Layers – Duplicate and rename “Tube1a”

Effects – Plugins – Xero – Radiance

Use the default settings :

Change the Blend Mode to “Hard Light”

Lower the Opacity to around 24

Highlight layer “Lines”

Grab your tube again

Copy – Paste – As New Layer and rename “Main Tube”

Resize and arrange it over on the left-hand side of your tag until you are happy with the positioning

Layers – Duplicate and rename “Main Tube1”

Adjust – Blur – Gaussian Blur – Radius 3

Change the Blend Mode to “Hard Light”

Lower the Opacity to around 83

Highlight your “Main Tube” layer again


Add a drop shadow of choice


Highlight layer “Main Tube1”


Grab your Wordart


Copy – Paste – As New Layer and rename “Wordart”


Arrange along the bottom-right of your tag


Layers – New Raster Layer and rename “Border”

Selections – Select All

Selections – Modify – Select Selections Border with these settings :



Grab your Floodfill Tool

Change your Foreground to a complimenting colour from your tag. I am using #a53900

Floodfill your selection

Selections – None

Adjust – Add/Remove Noise – Add Noise with these settings :



Adjust – Sharpness – Sharpen

Add a drop shadow of choice

Add your name and copyright to your tag and save.

Open up a new image


Canvas size 150 x 150 pixels


Selections – Select All

Choose a paper from the kit. I am using the one on layer “Raster 9” again

Copy – Paste – Into Selection

Selections – None

Rename this layer “Background”

Grab your tube again

Copy – Paste – As New Layer and rename “TubeA”

Resize/Arrange your tube over to the left-hand side of your avatar

Lower the Opacity to around 34

Once happy with the positioning

Layers – Duplicate and rename “TubeB”

Effects – Plugins – Xero – Radiance with the previous settings

Change the Blend Mode of this layer to “Hard Light”

Lower the Opacity to around 46

Layers – New Raster Layer and rename “Border”

Selections – Select All

Selections – Modify – Select Selections Border

Use the previous settings

Grab your Floodfill Tool again

Your Foreground should still be set to the colour we used before (#a53900)

Floodfill your selection

Selections – None

Adjust - Add/Remove Noise - Add Noise with the same settings from before

Adjust - Sharpness - Sharpen

Add a drop shadow of choice

Add your name and copyright to your tag, save and your done! :)
