"Not A Label" - Tutorial (PTU Kit)


**Supplies Needed**

Tube & Kit of choice. I'm using a new release from Arthur Crowe & the matching kit called “Purple Shadow”. Both can be purchased here

**Plugins**

Penta.com – Jeans
EyeCandy4000 – Gradient Glow



Open up your tube of choice
Shift + d to duplicate
Close the original
Minimize your copied tube for the moment

Open up the template
Shift + d to duplicate
Close the original

Delete/hide the credits layer

Highlight layer “large rectangle”

Selections – Select All – Float – Defloat

Layers – New Raster Layer and rename “large rectangle copy”

Open up paper 1 from the kit

Minimize it for the moment

Grab your Floodfill Tool

Change your Background to Pattern – choose paper 1

Angle = 0, Scale = 100%

Floodfill your selection

Selections – None

Effects – Texture Effects – Fine Leather with these settings :



Effects – Plugins – Eyecandy4000 – Gradient Glow with these settings :

Glow Width = 3

Soft Corners = 25%
Opacity = 100%
Draw Outside Selections Checked




Add a drop shadow

Delete layer “large rectangle”

Highlight layer “small rectangle”

Selections – Select All – Float – Defloat


Layers – New Raster Layer and rename “small rectangle copy”

Grab your Floodfill Tool

Change your Foreground to #785b89


Fill your selection with the colour

Selections – None

Effects – Texture Effects – Fine Leather


Use the previous settings again

Delete layer “small rectangle”


Highlight layer “circle1”

Adjust – Brightness & Contrast

Brightness = -255, Contrast = 10

Adjust – Add/Remove Noise – Add Noise

Uniform, Monochrome, Noise 71%

Add a drop shadow

Highlight layer “circle2”

Selections – Select All – Float – Defloat


Layers – New Raster Layer and rename “circle2 copy”

Grab your Floodfill Tool

Change your Foreground colour to #c68ff3

Fill your selection

**Do Not Deselect**

Layers – New Raster Layer and rename “pattern”


Open up paper 8 from the kit

Minimize it for the moment

Change your Background to paper 8

Floodfill your selection

Change the Blend Mode to Overlay

**Do Not Deselect**

Grab your tube

Copy – Paste – As New Layer and rename “tube closeup”

Arrange over the selected area

Once happy with the placing

Selections – Invert – Delete

Highlight layer “background”

Selections – Select All

Image – Crop To Selection

Highlight layer “tube closeup” again

Adjust – Hue & Saturation – Colorize

Hue = 0, Saturation = 0

Change the Blend Mode to Hard Light

Delete layer “circle2”

Highlight layer “circle3”

Selections – Select All – Float – Defloat


Layers – New Raster Layer and rename “circle3 copy”

Grab your Floodfill Tool

Foreground colour to #785b89


Fill your selection

Selections – None

Effects – Texture Effects – Fine Leather

Use the previous settings again

Effects – Plugins – EyeCandy4000 – Gradient Glow

Use the previous settings from above

Add a drop shadow

Delete layer “circle3”

Highlight layer “square”

Adjust – Brightness & Contrast


Brightness = -255, Contrast = 10

Effects – Plugins – Penta.com – Jeans with these settings

Amount = 62, Border Width = 6

Repeat with the same settings again

Effects – Plugins – Eyecandy4000 – Gradient Glow

Use the previous settings

Highlight layer “Me”

Effects – Plugins – Penta.com – Jeans

Use the previous settings, but only apply them once this time

Effects – Plugins – Eyecandy4000 - Gradient Glow

Use the previous settings

Grab your Change To Target Brush

Change your Foreground colour to #b78cd2

Recolour the word Me


Add a drop shadow

Highlight layer “label”

Effects – Plugins - Eyecandy4000 – Gradient Glow

Use the same settings

Add a drop shadow

Highlight layer “not a”

Effects – Plugins – EyeCandy4000 – Gradient Glow


Use the same settings

Add a drop shadow


Highlight layer “I'm”

Effects – Plugins – EyeCandy4000 – Gradient Glow


Use the same settings again

Add a drop shadow


Highlight layer “background”

Layers – New Raster Layer and rename “mask”


Grab your Floodfill Tool

Change your Foreground colour to #3e4a54

Fill the mask layer

Layers – Load/Save Mask – Load Mask From Disk

Choose “138InsatiableDreams” with these settings :




Highlight layer “square”

Grab your tube


Copy – Paste – As New Layer and rename “tube main”

Arrange over on the right-hand side of your tag, behind the wordart


Once happy with the placement, add a drop shadow

Your tag should now look something like this



The following steps are for guidance only. They are for the elements I chose to add to the tag.
Please feel free to add whichever elements your creative mojo chooses :)

Highlight layer “tube main”

Open up the “beads” element from the kit


Copy – Paste – As New Layer and rename “beads”

Arrange over on the bottom-right of your tag, in front of your tube

Layers – Duplicate and rename “beads copy”

Image – Free Rotate with these settings :



Arrange over on the top-left of your tag

Drag this layer down in your Layer Palette until it is below your “circle1” layer

Add a drop shadow to both beads layers

Highlight layer “tube main” again

Open up element “wire1” from the kit

Copy – Paste – As New Layer and rename “wire1”

Arrange over on the top-right of your tag, over by your tube

Drag this layer down in your Layer Palette until it is below your “large rectangle copy” layer

Highlight layer “I'm”

Open up element “book” from the kit

Copy – Paste – As New Layer and rename “book”

Image – Resize – 45%

Arrange over on the bottom-left of your tag by the small square

Add a drop shadow

Open up element “cross” from the kit

Copy – Paste – As New Layer and rename “cross”

Image – Resize – 75%

Arrange on the bottom-left of your tag, by the book and in front of the small square


Add a drop shadow


Open up element “decor” from the kit

Copy – Paste – As New Layer and rename “decor”

Arrange in front of the cross we just placed


Open up element “leaves” from the kit

Copy – Paste – As New Layer and rename “leaves”

Image – Resize – 65%


Arrange along the bottom edge of your tag, in front of the cross and the wordart

Add a drop shadow

Open up the element “candle” from the kit

Copy – Paste – As New Layer and rename “candle”

Image – Resize – 30%

Arrange over on the bottom-left of your tag, by the cross and book placed earlier

Add a drop shadow

Open up element “crow” from the kit

Copy – Paste – As New Layer and rename “crow”

Image – Resize – 30%

Arrange so it looks like they are sat on the cross placed earlier

Add a drop shadow

Open up element “flower2” from the kit

Copy – Paste -As New Layer and rename “flower2”

Image – Resize – 25%

Arrange along the left-hand side of your tag, overlapping the beads and edge of the cirle

Duplicate and mirror the flower several times, and place at points on your tag wherever you feel they look best

Add a drop shadow to all flower layers


**If you would like to resize your tag, now is the time to do so**


Add your name and all copyrights.
Save your finished tag and you’re done!
